auto-completion of brackets, etc. [feature]

Reported by Kenneth | December 26th, 2010 @ 10:34 AM

What I did: Type an opening [, {, (, ', ", etc.

What I expected to happen: The closing bracket to be automatically inserted after the cursor.

    This one is quite essential. At least with {} I think. It would be really nice to if there's a way to do this on language level so it could be auto completed as the standard for that language. For instance

    if (string != "") {
    alert(string); }

    if (string != "")
    { Console.Write(string); }

    Additionally, it'd be great if:

    • Kod could shortly highlight the matching counterpart of a bracket,accolade,quote when the cursor is over a certain char. So when cursor is on '(' it'd shortly highlight the matching ')'.

    • Bonuspoints for making this invokable behaviour where the cursor jumps to the counterpart character. Like the '%' action in Vim.

    I must also add my 2 cents saying this feature would be great!

    I think Kod is really beautiful. It would be great if, when I hover over or click on an open/close bracket, the matching close/open bracket is highlighted. Then I could happily use it as my day-to-day editor :).
