Feature: Run on ⌘R

Reported by zachriggle | December 24th, 2010 @ 06:41 AM

What I did

Opened a Python file, pressed ⌘+R.

What I expected to happen

The Python script should run.

What actually happened

Nothing

Comments

While there's no need for it to be ⌘+R, there should be a way to run an interpreted file based on the type of file, .py->python, etc. Making this a Menu item will mean that the standard OS X keyboard prefpane can be used to map this to an arbitrary keystroke.

    • State changed from “new” to “hold”
    • Assigned user set to “rsms”
    • Tag set to feature

This should be a feature of a future plugin/extension. E.g. like the Python TextMate bundle.
