During the editing of the Python source code

Reported by banomirza | September 15th, 2021 @ 12:30 AM

The error occurred when I pressed enter at the end of a line when editing a Python source file created in a different text editor (with tab indentation). Indentations were automatically added to the new line, matching the previous line. As soon as I pressed the tab key, the cursor didn't move.

Assumption: I expected the current line to be indented another tab stop.

The lines at the beginning were inserted with two spaces. Spaces were invisibly added without adjusting tab stops in the line because there were tabs already, and the cursor remained exactly where it was https://yt1s.me/
A beta version of Kod is available: Kod 0.0.3

Although I don't want to start a debate over tabs versus spaces, most text editors for coding provide options for hard vs. soft tabs, as well as the number of spaces when using soft tabs. You'd be able to use that. (I realize this ticket is similar to my own, but it sounds so different that I created this ticket.)
