Syntax highlighting is not effective until opening a file

Reported by johannes | December 24th, 2010 @ 12:50 AM | in 0.0.2

What I did:
1. Open a new file
2. Write "function test()"
3. Save file as "test.js" with "File Format" set to "JavaScript Source"

What I expected to happen:
The file should be syntax highlighted: The color of "function" should be different from that of "test".

What actually happened:
No syntax highlighting is performed. "function" and "test" has the same color.

    Similar issue occurs when creating a file from the command line:

    1. Create a file from the terminal ("kod helloWorld.py")
    2. Write "print 'hello world'"

    Expected:
    File should be syntax highlighted

    Actual:
    No syntax highlighting

    Note:
    After re-opening the existing, saved file with the same terminal command, syntax highlighting appears correctly.
