auto-completion should auto popup whitout need of pressing ESC

I think the auto completion list shall popup by itself when I'm writing, without any need of pressing ESC. The auto-completion is, at least for everyone I know, not any kind of dictionary but a way of coding faster by just writing 2-3 chars and then be able to press enter to take the propose that's been given. Pressing ESC can never be as fast.

I know there's people that think that the Textmate way of doing everything is the perfect way. Then use Textmate ;)

Can't we do a preference setting if it should be automatic or need ESC to popup?
