Tabs jumping around when opened

What I did:
Dragged a folder to the icon on the task tray, and opened files in the file menu
What I expected to happen:
Tabs were opened one after another, in order.
If I change tab, and open another file, it's tab appears after the current open tab, then gets switched to.
What actually happened:
Tabs were appearing in the tab bar in random places. Either at the start, at the end, or anywhere in between.
They don't appear to be sort alphabetically, nor in the order I opened them.

- State changed from “new” to “open”
- Tag changed from “bug” to “@low, @todo, behavior, chromiumtabs, ui, ux”
This is by design (using edit distance to place the tabs at a "natural" position).
However, this should be configurable and thus I mark this as a low prio todo. Thanks.
